The trees grow rapidly, reaching maturity in just 15 years compared to 50-100 years for oaks. As the trees age, their fruit production decreases, leading farmers to cut down and replant them. This approach ensures that the forest is not unnecessarily depleted, allowing the wood to have a second life as beautifully crafted furniture.
